West Indies explosive opener Chris Gayle achieved a unique milestone of completing 10,000 runs in the T-20 format on Tuesday. He is the first batsman to reach the milestone. Left-handed batsman Gayle achieved this milestone only after completing his third run in the IPL-10 match against Gujarat Lions.
Chris Gayle has scored runs with an average of more than 40 and a strike rate of around 150 in his career. Gayle has made 18 centuries and 60 fifties in this small format of cricket. There were 736 sixes in his name prior to this match.
Gayle has become the first batsman in the world to score more than 10,000 runs in first-class, List A and T-20 formats. He achieved this in 248 innings in first class, 273 innings in List A and 285 innings in T20.
