BCCI’s president, CK Khanna has asked th secretary Amitabh Chaudhary to call Special General Meeting (SGM). The only agenda of this meeting is the ICC. When Khanna was asked about this, he also confirmed it. It has also been decided that the Indian team will not be selected for the Champions Trophy before the May 7th, because the BCCI had said that if the ICC does not take care of the interests of India, then it can withdraw from the Champions Trophy.
The last date for sending Team India’s 15 names to the ICC for the Champions Trophy was April 25. Seven other countries have sent their team to the ICC except India.
Even though it may be seen in the battle of the ICC and the BCCI, in reality it is a rival between ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar and former ICC president N Srinivasan. BCCI’s secretary Amitabh Chaudhary and Treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary are close to Srinivasan and they went to participate in the ICC board meeting. They have already said that we will not compromise with the ICC. Some people of the board say that they are running the agenda of Srinini. We do not want India to lose to the Champions Trophy.
The BCCI will arrange a special general meeting (SGM) on May 7 to decide that will Indian team participate in the Champions Trophy to be held in England from June 1 or not.
