Pakistan had to face an emphatic defeat against the strong opponent India in the first match of the tournament. The Pakistani team had failed with both the bowling and batting in the match.

Wahab Riaz was injured while bowling during the match against India. The Pakistani team has to play their second match against South Africa. According to the information, Riaz suffered an ankle injury in the match against India on Sunday. In their scan of the injury, it has come out that it will take two weeks for them to recover.

Riaz suffered an injury in the 46th over during the match played against India at the Edgbaston ground in Birmingham. However, Wahab Riaz’s bowling performance in the match was poor. He was unable to take a single wicket and gave 87 runs in 8.1 overs. All the Indian batsmen had scored very well on his bowling. A scan of the injury, on Monday, confirmed that Riaz had a problem in his ankle joints and it would take at least two weeks to recover from this injury. Hence he has been out of the Champions Trophy.
