India has reached a good position in the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle Cricket Ground. After making a huge score of 600 runs, Indian bowlers have sent the Sri Lankan half-team to the pavilion. Now only Angelo Mathews is in the way of India’s vast edge.
The ball is gripping well and the turn is also there. In such a situation, Sri Lankan batsmen have to play Ashwin and Jadeja well, only then the match can be stretched for the fifth day. Sri Lankan bowling & fielding were not good and the team was not able to get wickets on regular intervals. Sri Lanka gave a chance to Sikhar Dhawan and then Sikhar Dhawan played a great inning of 190 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara also scored a century.
However, on the second day, Sri Lanka bowled with a target and fielding was also good. Nuwan Pradeep proved as the best bowler and added three wickets in the first three wickets. It included Pujara’s valuable wicket. After poor bowling on the first day, they showed good control on the second day. They finally bowled out India on the score of 600 runs.
Sri Lanka has scored 154 runs for the lose of 5 wickets till the end of the second day. Angelo Mathews needs to play well if Sri Lanka has to score a respectable score.
