Indian Premier League franchise team Delhi Daredevils has changed their name and logo. Delhi Daredevils team will now come up with new name ‘Delhi Capitals’ in the 12th edition of IPL. The franchisee, while giving this information on her official Twitter handle, wrote, “Hello Delhiites, say hello to Delhi Capitals!” The team has also released their new logo. There are three tigers in the logo of ‘Delhi Capitals’. Significantly, the auction for the 12th season of the IPL will be held in Jaipur on December 18. Earlier, the auction process of the 11 editions of IPL has been conducted in Bengaluru. But the BCCI has also changed the place of IPL auction this time too. 70 players have been given a place in the auction process, including 50 Indians and 20 foreign players in IPL-2019.
Eight teams have a total amount of 145 crores 25 lakhs for bidding in the auction. Last month, before the auction, the teams announced the names of the retained players and released some big names during this period. Kings XI Punjab released Yuvraj Singh, while Delhi Capitals have released Gautam Gambhir. At the same time, Sunrise Hyderabad did not want to release Shikhar Dhawan for financial reasons.
Now Shikhar Dhawan will play for Delhi Capitals in the 12th season. There is also the possibility that in the event of a conflict of dates with the Lok Sabha elections, some part of the IPL 2019 or the entire tournament can be held outside India. Earlier in the year 2009, due to the Lok Sabha elections, the second edition of the Indian Premier League was organized in South Africa. This time also the Lok Sabha elections are likely in April-May.
