The BCCI has recommended Cheteshwar Pujara’s name for the Arjuna Award who played very well in the last Test season for India. BCCI has also nominated the Indian women team member Harmanpreet Kaur for the award.
BCCIÂ has not nominated any player for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. A senior BCCI official said, “We have sent Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet for the Arjuna Award. These names have been sent to the Sports Ministry as both performed well in the last session.
Harmanpreet has been India’s best batsman in the limited overs format. She played a key role in India’s victory in the Twenty-20 series against Australia in Australia and Women’s Asia Cup.
30-year-old Pujara has scored 3798 runs in 48 Tests with an average of 51, including 11 centuries and 14 half-centuries. Pujara is considered the most reliable batsman of India’s middle order in Test matches.
