Indian captain Virat Kohli said that Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the best Test batsmen of the Indian team. He further said, “He is hungry for runs and he is mentally strong for his cricket as a cricketer as he is helping himself to establish himself.”
Pujara (133) and Ajinkya Rahane (132) made a partnership of 217 runs in the first innings of the 2nd test match. After that India declared the innings for 622 runs at 9 wickets. Kohli said “Both Pujara and Ajinkya are our best Test batsmen, especially in the middle order. Both are continuously performing well for us. I will give more credit to Pujara because he plays for India in just one format.”
While praising Cheteshwar Pujara’s commitment, Kohli said, “The way Pujara plays it shows his hunger, passion and hard work in his game.” He said, “He is a player who is mentally strong enough. He knows how to score runs, which is the most important thing. Pujara as a cricketer is quite mature.
