Team India become no. 1 in ICC ODI Rankings

ICC ODI Rankings 2017

Team India has occupied number one in the ICC rankings by winning the third consecutive ODI against Australia. Team India has 120 points in the ICC rankings. However, with the victory in the second ODI played in Kolkata, India and South Africa had secured 119 points, but after calculating decimal numbers, Team India was at second place. But, with the victory in Indore ODI, Team India has officially become the number-one in the ODI along with the Test.

The ICC releases new rankings after the series is over. Two ODIs still remain against Australia. If Team India is to stay on number one position for a long time, then India will have to beat Australia in another match. If it does not happen then Team India will not be able to sustain number one for a long time.

South Africa has moved up to second place. South Africa has 119 rating points. The Australian team is third with 114 rating points and England is fourth with 113 points. New Zealand, with 111 points, are in fifth position. The Indian team has the opportunity to become number one team in all three formats of cricket in this season.

India is at fifth position in T20 rankings with 115 points. New Zealand is on top with 125 points. The Indian team has to play 6 T-20 International matches against Australia and New Zealand in October-November. Team India has the chance to become number one team in T-20 by wining these matches.
