England defeated hosts Sri Lanka by 18 runs with a Duckworth-Lewis system on Saturday in the rain-affected fourth one-day international and make an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
England had the target of 274 runs, but when England scored 132 runs in 27 overs, it was raining. According to the DL system, England needed 115 runs at that time.
Earlier, Sri Lanka had made a challenging score of 273 for the loss of seven wickets with the help of Dasun Shanaka (66) and opener Niroshan Dikewela (52). Jason Rai (45) and Alex Hales (12) added 52 runs for the first wicket.
Joe Root (32 not out) and captain Eoin Morgan (31 not out) made an unbroken partnership of 56 runs for the third wicket. Off-spinner Akila Dhananjay took two wickets for 27 runs for Sri Lanka.
